Morrish Engineering are the largest manufacturer of herb - baby leaf - watercress harvesters in the UK. With over 20 years of experience in their design we have developed a complete range from the small pedestrian controlled machine through to the large self propelled units. All our machines have hydrostatic drive systems mounted either on rubber tracks or wheels. Cutting of the crop is by band saw with operating widths of between 0.9mtr to 1.7mtr, although for cutting tall crops a separate recipricating knife is available. The band saw blade can be quickly changed without the use of tools. A unique system comprising of a vibrating chain can be fitted behind the main front elevator to remove soil and small leaves, the waste being returned to the ground by a small cross conveyor. At the rear of the machine alternative methods are available to handle the cut crop. All our machines are designed in conjunction with the end user, thereby ensuring the machines fit into their existing system of harvesting. All land crop machines are fitted with a hydraulically controlled depth roller behind the cutting head to maintain accurate height of cut. The smaller tracked harvesters can be used for harvesting watercress in which case the tracks are narrowed to run inside the cutting width. In all other cases we recommend that the tracks run in the wheelings either side of the raised bed.
These Harvesters have been designed specifically for the Horticultural and Agricultural industries where they gather green tender leafed vegetables including Spinach, Herbs and watercress. They are unique in there design and because of there relative lightweight construction can be transported to any destination throughout the world.
The main framework of each machine is hand made at our factory and all the harvesters are fully tested before delivery. They are economical, lightweight and very durable.
The Large Machine have been designed so that they can be loaded into a refrigerated trailer for ease of transport
